Montana Tea Party Coalition
By Henry Kriegel
Bozeman, Mont.-The Montana Tea Party Coalition is gathering results from a statewide survey of legislative candidates and will release the results of its survey within the next two weeks. The survey is intended to provide voters with a clearer understanding of where candidates stand on issues related to fiscal accountability, free markets, limited government and Constitutional authority.
The survey was drafted by a committee comprised of Tea Party leaders from Bozeman, Great Falls, Townsend and Glendive. Betsey Hedrick, a rancher's wife, took the lead in drafting the survey. "The Tea Party movement is very important to all of Montana," said Hedrick. "As a stay-at-home mother, I can make a difference through the Tea Party and so can many others. Hopefully, this survey will help us chose our next legislators wisely."
The Montana Tea Party Coalition is not endorsing candidates. The survey results are intended to help voters identify which candidates are more aligned with their values and principles. Voters are also encouraged to study how incumbents voted on critical legislation.
